Sultan Syarif Hasyim Forest Park (Tahura), Minas Jaya, Siak Regency, Riau, witnessed the history of the 2025 Karhutla Jamboree, which was held on Friday (25/4). This event is an important momentum in efforts to prevent forest and land fires (karhutla) in Indonesia. The three-day activity is the first karhutla jamboree in Indonesia, and also marks a new chapter in the collaboration of various elements of the nation to preserve nature.

Also present at the event was the Head of Public Relations of the Indonesian National Police, Inspector General of Police Dr. Sandi Nugroho, SIK, SH, M.Hum., who demonstrated the strong commitment of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) in supporting the environmental conservation movement. His presence represented the Polri in implementing the concept of green policing, a policing approach that integrates environmental conservation as an integral part of the task of maintaining social order and building national civilization.
Jamboree Karhutla 2025 was attended by around 1,500 participants from various elements, including the TNI-Polri, government agencies, educational institutions, and the general public. This is real evidence of cross-sector synergy in the great mission of preventing and overcoming the karhutla disaster that often hits Indonesia.
In one of the series of activities, Inspector General of Police. Sandi Nugroho also took part in the tree planting action in the Tahura Sultan Syarif Hasyim area. This action is a real form of support for the ‘Indonesia Planting Movement’, a national program initiated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, General TNI (ret.) H. Prabowo Subianto. Through this activity, the Police emphasized its role not only as a security guard, but also as a driving force for change towards a greener and more sustainable Indonesia.
In his remarks, the Head of Public Relations of the Indonesian National Police emphasized that the Indonesian National Police’s commitment to continue providing excellent service is not only manifested in the aspects of security and order, but also in devotion to protecting nature for the welfare of the wider community. “The Indonesian National Police are here to serve and carry out their obligations, including protecting the earth on which we stand. This is a real form of our devotion for the future of the nation,” said Inspector General of Police. Sandi Nugroho.
Jamboree Karhutla 2025 is an inspiration and a call for all elements of the nation to continue to synergize in maintaining environmental sustainability. Polri, through its presence and active involvement, shows that the task of protecting Indonesia is not only about law and security, but also about natural heritage for future generations.
